This committee was  established to organise the various events which are to take place to commemorate  the 350th anniversary of the Academy.

Suggestions include :

• an exhibition
• a concert
• the issue of a special stamp
• a symposium
• a tour
• the publication of a book : "L'Académie de Caen au seuil du IIIème Millénaire" ("The Academy of Caen on  the eve of the Millennium"), about the role of the Academy in the future, in response to a 1999 opinion poll.
• the award of  a special Academy prize for the entirety  of a production devoted  to Normandy
• a book on the history of the Academy from its foundation to the present day (including various articles from this site) 
  
  

The 2002 Committee is chaired by Dr Michel de PONTVILLE. Its members meet on a regular basis to supervise the progress of the various projects.
